Epic 2 Hour Helicopter Tour over the Land of Fire & Ice with Transfer from Reykjavik
Description
Summary
Description
Fly across Iceland’s spectacular landscapes, and land on a glacier and volcano, with this exciting helicopter adventure. This tour is a perfect opportunity for those who want to see why this country is called ‘the Land of Fire and Ice’ in the most unique and exhilarating of ways.
You will meet your pilot by Reykjavík’s Domestic Airport, who, after briefing you on your plan, will introduce you to your helicopter. You will hop on board, then lift off, and begin to circle high above Reykjavík.
There is no better vantage point than the sky to look over the city’s brightly coloured, unique architecture and incredible surrounding nature. After taking in the urban landscapes, the chopper will turn inland, and soar towards Iceland’s second-largest glacier, Langjökull, in the highlands.
You will land on its pristine surface and disembark for a short walk around the ancient ice. The snowscapes of the glaciers are as mesmerising as the views across the country’s dramatic interior.
After plenty of time to take pictures, you will hop back aboard, and take to the sky once more; you will swoop across the ice cap once more, admiring its plunging crevasses and beautiful outlet tongues, before turning south. This leg of your journey will take you over the dramatic crater of Skjaldbreiður and the continental rift valley in Þingvellir National Park.
Before returning to Reykjavík, you will make another landing, on an old volcano still seething with bubbling hot springs and fumaroles. You will have another opportunity to disembark and explore the area, getting photos of this unique location far from the crowds.
Finally, after two hours of sightseeing and adventure, you will land back at the Domestic Airport. Do not miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in the land of ice and fire and feel the thrill of flying. Check availability by choosing a date.
