Join this Super Jeep tour to see the sights of Iceland, where your thirst for adventure is met with a snowmobile excursion before your need for relaxation is covered with a visit to the Secret Lagoon. This ordeal is tailor-made for anyone wishing to have a full day of wonders and activities in the land of ice and fire.
Your day begins as you get picked up from Reykjavik in a Super Jeep able to handle the toughest, iciest Icelandic terrain and taken to the base camp near the glacial tongue of Langjökull, the second largest glacier in Iceland.
Then, get ready to zoom across the frosty terrain at the top of the glacier. Your guide will prepare you with safety equipment and proper instruction, and then you’re off to explore the snowy white ice field however you would like. Midst way we will stop to take a look at a newly discovered Ice Cave which opened up to us last summer. The natural Ice Cave is basically an underground pathway for a river that runs underneath the glacier. We have built an entrance to the cave which allows us to take a look underneath the Icecap.
After such a thrilling ordeal, you'll continue through the countryside to the sleepy village of Flúðir, the location of the Secret Lagoon, the less-visited but just as enchanting sibling of the Blue Lagoon. The admission for the lagoon is included in the tour price.
Then, relax in the natural hot spring until all your troubles float away. The water stays a toasty 38-40 degrees C (100-104 degrees F) throughout the year, so let the all-encompassing warmth relax you all the way down to your toes, nestled on the stony bottom of the pool.
All around the lagoon, there are short walking paths through the grass where you can see the stream which feeds the spring, including a small geyser and bubbling hot pools. There's also a café and restaurant on site where you can enjoy a drink or refreshments.
This tour is for anyone who wants a variety of activities on their vacation, both active and relaxing. Don't miss this chance to joyride through a spotless glacial country on the way to one of the best-kept secrets in Iceland. Check availability by choosing a date.
The weather changes quickly in Iceland, so don't be caught unawares. It is always better to bring a sweater or dress in layers which you can remove if you are too warm.
