Description

Learn to take the perfect photo of stunning ice caves and glaciers on this photography tour in Vatnajokull National Park in South Iceland. Those eager to improve their photography skills and visit some of the most spectacular ice landscapes in the world should book this small-group tour now.

The tour begins at Frysnes gas station on Iceland’s famous Ring Road. You’ll meet the other guests and the expert local guide leading your group on this tour. The tour leader will be a professional photographer and certified glacier guide, so you’ll be safe out on the ice.

This tour has a maximum of six people, meaning you’ll get plenty of one-to-one time with your guide. They’ll take you onto the ice and show you the best techniques for photographing some of Iceland’s most breathtaking natural features.

Before you set out, your guide will give you a full safety briefing and all the necessary equipment for ice caving and glacier hiking, including a helmet, a harness, crampons, and an ice axe.

First up, you’ll visit one or more ice caves. The photographer carefully chooses the caves to ensure optimal lighting and beautiful features. You’ll spend time shooting and learning to capture the magnificence of the ice structures.

The photographer will teach you techniques and tricks to help you achieve some unique picture perspectives. You’ll learn about focus stacking, bracketing, panoramas, and model positioning to ensure your photos look professional.

The ice caves of Iceland have gorgeous light and color conditions and will probably be different from anywhere you’ve taken photographs before. Your guide will help you make the most of these conditions for truly epic photography.

Once you’ve got the shots you want in the ice caves, it’ll be time to head up onto the Falljokull glacier. It’s an outlet glacier from the Vatnajokull ice cap. The scenery here is dramatic, with fantastic views of the mountains and crevasses surrounding the glacier.

The glacier is named after an ice fall — a frozen waterfall where ice crashes down the mountain toward the ocean. The glacier constantly moves and changes, meaning no two shots are identical. You’ll have some excellent photographs you can use for your portfolio, website, or social media channels.

Your guide will help you to find some of the most photogenic spots and views of the surrounding landscapes. Once you’ve finished your glacier hike, you’ll return to the meeting point with some incredible photos to show your family and friends.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn new photography techniques and tricks and shoot some of Iceland’s most beautiful glacial landscapes. Check availability now by choosing a date.
