Saddle up and experience the excitement of Icelandic horseback riding on a stunning valley near Reykjavik City on this fantastic private tour. Those who want to experience riding on a one-of-a-kind Icelandic horse while enjoying a lovely countryside views should book this tour now.

The tour starts as soon as you meet your friendly and knowledgeable guide at the Laxnes Horse Farm in Mosfellsbaer town. Here you will be introduced to your horse which is specially chosen depending on your horse-riding ability. You will also be fitted with a helmet and given instructions about the ride.

Then, once you're all set, your adventure begins. You will mount your horse which will be your partner for exploring the verdant Mosfellsdalur valley for the next two hours.

Icelandic horses are an exceptional kind. They are different from the other breeds because of their size and stride. These horses may be miniature but incredibly strong, with a unique soft gait. They are the only breed in the world that can perform five gaits instead of the usual three or four.

Icelandic horses have a way of touching their legs to the ground simultaneously to create a more stable pace. Icelanders call this special gait "tolt."

Performing such movement allows the horses to carry the rider more smoothly without the tossing effect of the usual trot. Thus, the rider on their back will enjoy a more comfortable ride.

Aside from their famous gait, Icelandic horses are also known for their shaggy winter coats, which come in spectacular colors and patterns. Some even have light blue eyes!

On this tour, you will connect with your lovely horse as you gallop together across hills, streams, and other scenic routes. Even without enough horse-riding experience, you don't have to worry because the horses are friendly, well-trained, and well-behaved.

After riding for quite some time, you will take a break near a waterfall where you can catch your breath and admire the breathtaking beauty of your mountainous surroundings.

Here, your guide may also tell you more about the Icelandic horses, how they were brought to Iceland, and how they have managed to stay purebred because no other horses have ever been imported to Iceland for the last 900 years.

Finally, at the end of your tour, you will head back to the farm, where you can refresh yourselves and even have some refreshments.

Don't miss this chance to ride across the beautiful Mosfellsdalur valley on the back of the world-famous Icelandic horse. Check availability now by choosing a date.
