ATV Tour Reykjanes Peninsula & Blue Lagoon

ATV Tour Reykjanes Peninsula & Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is famous across the planet for its revitalizing, geothermally heated water and healing Silica mud.
The guide will be quick to provide you with a helmet, windproof/waterproof layers, balaclavas and gloves, all the necessary equipment for an ATV tour.
Most travellers visit the Blue Lagoon either on the first or last day of their trip due to its close proximity to Keflavik International Airport.
By partaking in an ATV Tour on Reykjanes Peninsula, you open yourself up to some incredible panoramas of the surrounding nature.
ATVs can be used to reach areas otherwise inaccessible by foot or larger vehicles.
ATV is short for All Terrain Vehicle, its name a testament to the machine's amazing capability to traverse difficult ground.

Snatch up this one-of-a-kind opportunity to see the mountains, hills and fields of Iceland from the seat of a powerful ATV. On this 4-hour tour of the Reykjanes area, you will feast your eyes on the singular scenery that tells the story of Iceland's stark landscape, hewn millennia ago from rivers of magma, riotous rifts, and cooled lava rock.

You'll be picked up at your accommodation in the city and deliver you to the Blue Lagoon area, where you will change buses and greet your knowledgeable ATV tour guides before being taken to the ATV base camp approximately 5 minutes away.

To begin, you will ride between lava fields and black sands heading towards Húsafell, a former farm and church estate, and Fiskidalsfjall mountain, near the birch forest of Húsafellsskógur.

The ATV engines will purr like lions as you make your way to the very top of Hagafell mountain. Once you've arrived, you'll revel in the panoramic view of the severe but unmistakable dark lava fields, yellow-green moss and multicoloured brush in the Blue Lagoon area. In clear weather, you will be able to see all the way to the island Eldey, its sheer rock face rising like a monolith out of the ocean.

On the return journey, you will take in the sea air on a drive along the coastline, where you can view some dramatic shipwrecks on nearby sandbars, victims of an unlucky tide. You will make your way to the Blue Lagoon once more, where you may either spend the rest of the afternoon whiling away the hours in the warm water of the geothermal spa or take the next available Reykjavik Excursions bus back to your hotel to explore the city as the nightlife heats up.

Please note that admission to the Blue Lagoon is not included in this tour; a visitor's pass can be purchased on arrival there.

Take advantage of all this action and relaxation rolled into one afternoon! Check availability by choosing a date.
