If you are a fan of Game of Thrones, you probably know that many scenes were filmed in Iceland. This private tour takes you in the footsteps of some of the best-known characters to filming locations in Iceland.
Along the way, your guide introduces you to Iceland's role in the filming of Game of Thrones.
Your first stop is Thorufoss Waterfall, which appears in Game of Thrones when Drogon, one of the dragons of Daenerys Targaryen, attacks and devours a goat.
Next is Thingvellir National Park, the setting for several scenes in Game of Thrones, including the Bloody Gate, the passage to the Eyrie taken by Sansa Stark and later by the Hound and Arya Stark. At Thingvellir National Park, the site of the old Viking parliament, the European and North American tectonic plates are drifting apart, creating gorges and canyons.
The journey continues to Stong, with its replica of an old Viking farmhouse in Thjorsardalur Valley. This was Olly's village in Game of Thrones, which the Wildlings and the Thenns raided.
Next, depending on the season and weather, you visit Hjalparfoss Waterfall, Haifoss Waterfall, and Gjain Valley, where Arya Stark trains with the Hound. The valley has waterfalls, canyons, and lava formations worth seeing whether you are a fan of the show or not. You then make your way back to Reykjavik.
There is a lunch break during the day and plenty of restroom stops.
