Ride a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) from Reykjavik's Old Harbor to the puffin islands of Lundey and Akurey on this speedboat tour.
Lundey Island and Akurey Island are two small islands in the bay off Reykjavik, only 15 minutes from the Old Harbor. They're covered with small hills and slopes and known for their birdlife. Their shores are rocky, but the RIB's shallow draft lets it get as close to the islands as possible.
When you arrive, the engine is turned off so you can watch the birds and the surroundings. Puffins are easy to recognize by their colorful beaks. You may also see northern fulmars, gulls, Arctic terns, and black guillemots.
Your licensed guide tells you about the puffins, the other birds, and the city along the way. Then you speed back to the Old Harbor.
