Description

Discover the thrills of river rafting in Iceland by booking this once-in-a-lifetime adventure with pick-up from Reykjavik. Travelers, including children aged eleven and over, looking to get their adrenaline pumping should not hesitate to book this summer excursion.

The beginning of this tour could not be more convenient. A guide will pick you up from a meeting point right by your hotel in Iceland and escort you through the beautiful southern landscapes to the base camp on the Hvita river. Hvita is a glacier river originating at the second largest ice cap in the county, Langjokull, and is most renowned for its adventure opportunities and its famous Gullfoss waterfall.

The water also has a unique milky color to add more intrigue to this exciting trip.

You'll meet the rest of your expert guides at the base camp, who will promptly fit you with wetsuits, life jackets, helmets, and paddles, helping to ensure comfort and safety throughout the trip. Once you are ready, you'll board a bus specially designed to escort you along the bumpy terrain to the river bank.

After a demonstration on operating your paddle, you'll hop onto your raft begin your breathtaking journey. You will travel through patches of serene still water, providing tranquility, and raging rapids, providing thrilling adventure. Following your guide's instructions, you'll have great fun during the latter, as you navigate around outcrops of rocks, sharp corners, and foaming white water.

The route takes you into a beautiful valley between two sheer cliffs. These are made more spectacular than they already are by the hexagonal basalt columns and vivid green moss that decorate them. Therefore, this trip doesn't just provide thrills but an excellent insight into Iceland's nature.

After approximately 90 minutes on the water, you will pull up to the shore and find the bus waiting to escort you back to the camp. Once here, you can relax and warm up by showering then taking a luxurious dip in the on-site hot tub or a seat in the rejuvenating sauna!

You can even grab a quick drink or meal from the restaurant and bar if you are in time for your return trip to Reykjavik.
