8-Hour Rafting Tour on the Hvita River from Reykjavik

Raft down the Hvita River in the Golden Circle area on this tour with pickup from Reykjavik.

You're picked up in Reykjavik and driven about 1.5 hours to the rafting base at Drumbo, a short drive from Gullfoss Waterfall and even closer to the Geysir Geothermal Area.

At the base, you gear up for the river. Each raft holds 8 to 10 people.

The Hvita River flows from Langjokull Glacier, and below Gullfoss Waterfall it runs through a canyon with a mix of calm stretches, waves, and rapids. With your expert guide, you raft down about 4.3 miles (7 kilometers) of the river, with views you can only get from a boat.

Along the way, you stop at Bruarhlod Canyon, where you can cliff jump into the river if conditions allow.

After the river, you can warm up at the base in the outdoor hot tubs and the sauna with an infinity window, and use the showers and changing rooms. The base also has a restaurant and bar, where you can add a BBQ lamb feast or a hamburger and fries, with vegan options, at your own expense.

You're then driven back to Reykjavik.
