Exhilarating 3-Hour Glacier Snowmobiling Tour on Vatnajokull

You need to make your way to the meeting point 30 minutes before departure. You will meet your guides at a base camp in southeast Iceland, around 29 miles (46 kilometers) from Hofn. Here you will team up with your group before you are introduced to your ride for the day - snowmobiles. 

You can ride as a passenger if you are six years old or above, but you'll need a valid driver's license to operate one. Two people will be assigned to each snowmobile. If you want to ride alone, you can do so at an additional cost.

At base camp, you'll be provided with overalls and all the safety equipment you'll need for your snowmobile ride. Here, you'll be given a safety briefing and demonstration of how snowmobiles work. Don't worry, you don't need any prior experience or to have ridden one before, as snowmobiles are very easy to operate. 

Once you feel comfortable knowing the basics, it's time to get onto your snowmobile and set off on your adventure.

You will stop halfway through your adventure to take photos, so don't forget to bring your camera. Here you can have a few moments to yourself to enjoy the surrounding scenery without needing to drive. 

You'll also be able to switch the driver so you can experience the ride as a passenger too. Your glacier guide is a local expert, so you can ask anything you want to know about the ice caps and the surrounding nature, and they will be happy to answer.

At the end of the tour, you'll return your snowmobile to base camp and continue your South Coast holiday.
