Description

Sign up for this thrilling day tour and experience all of the wonders of Iceland’s stunning South Coast all the way to the magnificent Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. This excursion is perfect for those who want to see as much of the South Coast as possible in only one day.

Your day begins early with a pick up from Reykjavík when you will be introduced to your tour bus and expert guide for the day’s adventure. The first stop will be at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, a splendid natural feature that falls in front of a broad cavern which allows you to walk behind the falls.

Seljalandsfoss is part of the river Seljalandsá and has its origins underneath the glacier volcano Eyjafjallajökull which erupted in 2010. Only 500-metres away from Seljalandsfoss, is another waterfall, Gljúfrabúi which is definitely worth the walk!

Up next you will be driven a short distance to admire Skógafoss, one of the largest waterfalls in the country with a width of 25-metres and a drop of 60-metres. Due to the amount of water spraying from the waterfall, a rainbow (or sometimes two) is often visible on sunny days.

After seeing these beautiful waterfalls, you will head on to Reynisfjara or the ‘Black Beach’. The beach is filled with black pebbles and features an amazing cliff of regular basalt columns very much resembling a rocky step pyramid. Look out to sea and marvel at three extraordinarily shaped basalt sea stacks called Reynisdrangar and locally believed to be the petrified remains of ancient greedy trolls.

Last but not least, you will arrive at the stunning Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon filled with its majestic icebergs serenely making their way out to the Atlantic Ocean. You now have the option to take a boat ride on the lagoon so you can cruise among the brilliant blue icebergs which are extraordinary to see.

Join this tour and experience as much of the South Coast as you can in one day while being guided and informed by an experienced local. Check availability by choosing a date.
