Embark on a relaxing trip to the South Coast of Iceland and see its most famous attractions, including Skogafoss waterfall and Solheimajokull glacier. Those who want an easy-going Iceland experience with a visit to the geothermal spa at the Sky Lagoon should book this tour now.
The tour begins in Reykjavik, where you will meet your English-speaking guide. A minibus will pick you up, and you will drive to the scenic region of the South Coast.
You'll be treated to Iceland's stunning landscapes as you traverse the long but smooth route of around 97 miles (156 kilometers). The views will grow increasingly diverse from breathtaking coasts and towering mountains until you arrive at your first stop.
Skogafoss waterfall, with a drop of approximately 60 meters (200 feet), is a massive waterfall in the Nordic country that is famous for its rainbows. You can easily spot a rainbow above the cascading waters on a sunny, clear day.
If you want to experience it best, you can hike to the top or go near the waterfall's base for a photo.
Not far from Skogafoss waterfall is the village of Vik, where you will have a quick stop. After this, you'll proceed to the coastline of Iceland to see the iconic Reynisfjara black sand beach.
At Reynisfjara black sand beach, you will see the massive Atlantic waves crashing on the volcanic sands. The waves can be dangerous, so swimming isn't permitted.
You can enjoy the views here, especially the basalt cliff columns near its shoreline. Legend has it that the Reynisdrangar sea stacks were trolls frozen by the sunlight.
Before returning to the Capital Region for a relaxing geothermal bath, you'll have two more stops at Solheimajokull glacier and Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
If the conditions are right, your tour guide will bring you to the icy wilderness of the outlet glacier. If not, you can still enjoy its immense beauty from close by.
Much like Skogafoss waterfall, the Seljalandsfoss waterfall is a prominent attraction in Iceland. Apart from its clear waters, its best feature is the pathway around its 60-meter (200-foot) cliff.
This path allows you to see Seljalandsfoss waterfall from any angle, even from its back, if conditions allow.
After a whole day of exploring the South Coast, you will experience the warmth of the Sky Lagoon geothermal spa. The geothermal spa is not as famous as the Blue Lagoon one, so there are usually fewer people here.
Its infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by lava rocks, is a view you'll never forget. On top of that, the attraction's Skjol Bathing Ritual is a fantastic activity after a tiring day of adventure.
After a rejuvenating bath, you'll return to Reykjavik.
Explore Iceland's most diverse attractions on the South Coast and enjoy the relaxing waters of the Sky Lagoon geothermal spa with this combination tour. Check availability now by choosing a date.
