This is the perfect tour opportunity for those visitors looking to mix some gorgeous sightseeing with an education into the culture and cuisine of rural Iceland.
First of all, to work up an appetite, you will drive out from Iceland's charming capital city, Reykjavík, travelling deep into the surrounding countryside. As per your guide's discretion, you will make a stop at a local scenic attraction where you will make a short hike.
Here, you can fully embrace and appreciate the untouched beauty of Iceland's landscape; as well as get your tummy rumbling for dinner! By joining this tour, you will visit some of the lesser-known waterfalls in the country, thus creating a truly unique and authentic experience.
You will make a stop for lunch near the striking Deildartunguhver, Europe's most powerful hot spring. At Deildartunguhver itself, you will witness billowing steam clouds and geothermal vents, whilst the lunch will take place at a nearby local farm. Here, the farmer will give you an insight into their honest farm produce, providing the opportunity to taste their eclectic and delicious menu.
Food and attractions vary tour by tour, but you can expect some of the tastiest treats found in West Iceland; excellent lamb meat, cow cheese, traditional skyr, organic vegetables and juicy fat strawberries. You will even learn how much of this produce is grown in geothermally heated greenhouses.
After your lunch, you will make a number of other stops at local attractions, be it a dramatic canyon, a cascading waterfall or a fascinating volcanic field, before heading back to your accommodation in Reykjavík.
So don't miss out on your chance to experience this combination of scenic nature and culinary delights with this fantastic "Taste of Nature" tour, a treat for all the senses! Check availability by choosing a date.
