The Golden Circle, Monster Truck & Snowmobiling

The Golden Circle is Iceland's Number 1 sightseeing route—visitors travel from across the world to see the route's main attractions!
A Super Truck will take you up onto the glacier; the only vehicle, save a snowmobile, that can handle the ice cap's terrain.
The majority of snowmobiling guides in Iceland have practiced the sport for years!
A frozen waterfall makes for an incredible visual display, a scene straight out of Narnia!
Snowmobiling is an exciting way of breaking up the Golden Circle sightseeing route.
Strokkur is only one third of the famous Golden Circle sightseeing route—this hot spring spurts out boiling water every five to ten minutes.

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime on this day tour of snowmobiling, sightseeing and mountain tracking on top of an Icelandic glacier, with the added marvels of the sights of the Golden Circle. This is a tour for any seeker of thrills wanting to experience the authentic natural wonders of the island of ice and fire.

After getting picked up at decided locations in Reykjavík City, a Super-Jeep will take you to your destination. En route, you will behold the primary sights of the Golden Circle, including Þingvellir National Park, the geothermal valley of Haukadalur, and the magnificent waterfall Gullfoss.

Þingvellir is listed as a World Heritage site, boasting of a unique terrain where two tectonic plates meet, as well as being the location of Iceland’s very first Parliament Alþingi. In Haukadalur, you will encounter the two famous geysers Geysir and Strokkur, the latter of which still sprouts boiling water into the air every few minutes.

You will then head on through the mountainous and uniquely scenic terrain of the Icelandic Highlands, where you will reach your destination of Langjökull, the second largest icecap in Iceland. Riding in a Super-Jeep is an experience on its own, with the 4x4 monsters being specially modified to venture across the rough surroundings of the Highlands.

Once you arrive, get ready to fly across the icy terrain on a speedy snowmobile. The exhilarating one-hour ride allows you to experience the glacier to its full extent, as the frosty air fills your lungs and your eyes behold the glistening ice formations of your trail.

This is a great tour! You get to see several beautiful sights to top it all off with a super fun snowmobile ride. It’s a bit on the expensive side, but worth every penny. The guide was awesome! Enthusiastic, fun and helpful. Pick up and drop off went smooth and even a few unexpected changes (which can occur very easily in such harsh conditions) were handled very professionally. I will go on this tour again and so should you :-)

We had a wonder experience with this trip visiting the various places listed in the itinerary with Artic Adventures. The drive to the glacier and the snow mobiling experience were simply fabulous . The experience was both surreal and exciting. The guide Bjorn was excellent and helpful. The only down side was that we were told the day before the trip by email that they could not pick us up from our hotel but we had to walk about 150 m to the new pick up point. We ended up waiting in the freezing cold temperature for the super jeep for 30 mins!

This trip is an absolute must, Brilliant Super Jeep, Brilliant guide, Sven, Brilliant sights and the best fun on the snowmobile. We were very lucky to have good weather and even stopped off on our way home to pet some icelandic horses. Highly recommend this trip.

Forget Blue Lagoon or Northern Lights.... THIS is what Iceland is all about. The snowmobile ride is one of the most amazing things (if not the most) you can do in Iceland. I'll never forget that experience! Arctic Adventures provided us with some awesome tour guides. Everything was perfect from beginning to end!

We booked the northern lights tour and snowmobililing/golden circle with Guide to Iceland. The first night we had booked was cancelled due to unfavourable conditions, the second night we went out but were unsuccessful, our guide Ian was lovely and was so informative. Guide to Iceland decided they shouldn't have taken us out that night so didn't charge us for this trip which was really good. We then tried the next night with no luck again, we were then offered another free trip but we were unable to go as we were going home but we were given a voucher for the museum. The snowmobiling tour was incredible so fun and such a good experience, well worth the money we would of paid more. Overall the customer service was brilliant, so quick with responding to my emails, dealt with any problems/queries immediately, would definitely use again!

Fantastic - highly recommend this tour. We had a beautiful day and the scenery was breathtaking - both the geyser and the glacier. The other stops along the way were also enjoyable, and kept the ride interesting.

amazing I felt like I was on the coolest truck in the world. The guide's driving skills were very good! This trip makes me completely fall in love with Iceland! Will be there again!

amazing views around the golden circle. the snowmobiling was unforgettable - I felt like I was in a James Bond movie riding around in the middle of nowhere. only thing to complain about was that our driver made us rush at each stop, could've used more time at each destination. but overall, a memorable experience!

In one word: unforgettable. This tour let's you see some of the highlights of Iceland, plus get a thrill from riding the snowmobiles. It is a bit on the expensive side, but nothing in Iceland is cheap relative to most other countries. What Iceland has in abundance is natural beauty; the country's nature is a strong competitor with it's women for natural beauty. You won't be disappointed. Travelling by superjeep is a fun way to travel, and once you get off-road you visit places that aren't possible with any other vehicle. You will be picked up from your hotel and returned back to the same place. This is typical of Iceland. Superior service is standard. The driver and tour guide were friendly and informative. The tour has an early start and in winter it is a bit dark to see much at the first stop: Þingvellir, although I still got great photos. This is followed by a visit to Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall. Lunch is at the cantina at Gullfoss then back into the superjeep to go off road. Eventually taking you on to Langjökull (long glacier) where the snowmobiles are. If you are feeling adventurous you might be able to push the speed to 70/80 km/h. Great fun since the glacier is wide open with no obstacles. I was fortunate to have mostly clear weather though. The tour has an outward leg lasting 25 minutes, then a 10 minute break to take pictures, then another 25 minutes to return back to the start. It costs a lot, but you will enjoy every second of it.

We really enjoyed this day put. Our driver Andre (I think was his name) was really relaxed, informative and fun. The Super Jeep was great fun and the best way to get around the icey, snowy locations. The view points we visited were some of the best sites we have ever seen and ones we won't forget. The snowmobiling was super fun and definitely worth the long drive to go and do. The only negative I have would be that for the money we paid (£525 for 2 of us)to not include lunch for a 9 hour long trip this could have been a nice extra touch. All in all a fun filled, action packed day Babs & Chris xx
