If you want to engulf yourself in the natural landscapes of this volcanic island, this is the adventure to complete your travels.
Your journey begins in either in Reykjavík or on the south coast, where you will meet with your local guide and board a modified super jeep that will take you to the stunning mountain ridge Þórsmörk, named after the Norse God of thunder, Thor.
You’ll spend the next two nights in the mountain hut Húsadalur, embarking on scenic hikes through this incredible area, nestling between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and Eyjafjallajökull, the latter of which is the infamous volcano that made headlines during the eruption in 2010.
The third day of your excursion will consist of traversing the most popular sightseeing route in the whole country, the Golden Circle. Visit the spouting geysers in the geothermal valley Haukadalur, see the mighty cascade of Gullfoss Waterfall, and spend time in the continental rift valley Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
