Description

Cross Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon by Zodiac boat and then hike on Fjallsjokull Glacier on this small-group combination tour in South Iceland.

There are restrooms at the meeting point, and all activities start and end here, so no extra driving is needed.

Your day begins with a Zodiac boat ride across the lagoon. Your guide steers through the floating icebergs, with close-up views of Fjallsjokull Glacier and Vatnajokull Glacier, the largest glacier in Europe, behind it.

The boat ride takes about 20 to 30 minutes and drops you off at the edge of the glacier. From there, you take a short hike to the spot where you step onto the ice.

Fjallsjokull is a quiet outlet glacier on the South Coast, so you can explore it away from the crowds. Your guide leads you on the ice for 60 to 90 minutes.

After the glacier hike, you walk back to the boat and cross the lagoon to the tour reception.

There is a short hike each way between the boat and the glacier, plus hiking on uneven glacial ice.

If you have difficulty walking or health issues that may cause fatigue, this tour may not be suitable for you.

Your guide asks basic health questions before departure and may decline anyone who can't safely take part.

If conditions on Fjallsjokull Glacier aren't suitable, the hike may move to another nearby outlet glacier. In that case, the boat tour and glacier hike take place separately during the day.
