Description

Join a tour led by the oldest whale watching tour operator in Iceland—founded in 1993 and specialising in whale watching and sea angling. Enjoy whale watching in Eyjafjörður fjord, a little sea angling during the return trip and have your catch filleted to your heart's desire.

This tour departs from Hauganes, an authentic fishing village on the west side of Eyjafjörður, just 30 km North of Akureyri. From this small picturesque settlement, your tour departs to immerse you in the whale population of the fjord.

Whether the whales have ventured deep into the fjord or stay closer to Hrísey island, they are always just a short trip away from Hauganes. Enjoy a comfortable tour while observing the fantastic scenery, birdlife, and of course the diverse range of whales that reside in Eyjafjörður.

The species most commonly spotted on these tours are the great Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Harbour Porpoise, and White Beaked Dolphins. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of a Killer Whale or a Blue Whale!

Your captain spends the winters as professional fishermen so you can be assured you’re in good hands during the summer season of whale watching. In many years there has been a 99% success rate.

This tour is carbon neutral, but one tree is planted for each for each excursion that is undertaken. Furthermore, the oak boats run partially on biodiesel made from recycled cooking oil from restaurants.

Each tour includes complimentary coffee and Icelandic pastries and you will be provided with warm safety clothing. All the equipment you may need to enjoy sea angling or deep sea fishing is available for you on board the ship.

So don't wait to book the whale watching and sea angling adventure of a lifetime. Check availability by choosing a date.
