See whales and puffins on one booking with this combination tour from Reykjavik's Old Harbor, made up of two separate boat trips.
The tour starts at the ticket office at Geirsgata 11 in the Old Harbor in central Reykjavik. Arrive at least 30 minutes before departure to check in.
On the whale-watching tour, you head out into Faxafloi Bay to look for minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins, and harbor porpoises, and orcas occasionally appear too.
As you sail, you get views of the mountains and islands around Reykjavik and the many seabirds over the bay.
On board, you receive warm flotation overalls, and the boat has free Wi-Fi, heated indoor cabins, and a bar.
After whale watching, you change boats for the puffin tour.
The puffin boat, Skulaskeid, has a shallow draft designed to get as close as possible to the islands where the puffins nest. You can watch them float on the waves and fly overhead, and binoculars are available on board.
Afterward, the boat returns to the Old Harbor.
