If I only had 24 hours in Iceland
Let´s say that I only had 24 hours in Iceland and I wanted to use that time as good as possible. Here is a guide to what I would do!
If my plane lands at 8 am...
When I land I would want to start in the blue lagoon since it is pretty close to Keflavík airport. If I didn´t start there I would at least try to get there as soon as possible. Here is a bus transfer you can book to the blue lagoon.
The next thing I would do is go to Reykjavík and have a hot dog because I am more of a "light lunch girl" than anything. So I would go have a hot dog at Bæjarins Bestu hot dog stand. It is actually one of our top 10 best value place to eat in Iceland. I always order ''eina með öllu'', which means one with every thing. The hot dog stand is next to Kolaportið which is a flea market that is only open on the weekends.
After that I want to go see Geysir which is part of the Golden Circle. Since I like caving and adventures things I would most likely book this tour. I am already wishing that I had more than 24 hours because I would love to book the Golden circle tour and Snorkelling tour because I have never been snorkeling!
If I would have more time I would book the Blue Lagoon tour and Golden Circle trip tour.
If I would not go to the Golden Circle I would like to go to Jökulsárlón to see the glacier lagoon. This is the tour that I would book.
There are many places in Reykjavík to dine at and it really just depends on what mood I am in what I want to eat. But I would find something on Laugavegur, because there are a lot of places and everybody can find something they will like.
For the sake of an argument I am going to imagine that these 24 hours would be in the middle of the Northern lights season so I book this tour to go see the northern lights with my own eyes.
Again, I am going to imagine that my 24 hours take place on a Saturday, so I go check out the night life. When the clubs close and people start going home its time for me to take the airport bus back to Keflavík airport and go back home.
