Location and Nearby

The family-run guesthouse is strategically located for a visit to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon as well as the many sights in the Vatnajökull region, such as the Skaftafell Nature Reserve or the famous mountain Vestrahorn. It lies 4 km off Route 1 along a gravel road, and Jökulsárlón is about 50 km away, just under an hour's drive.

The lovely village of Höfn is about 20 km away and can be reached within 25 minutes. There you can enjoy the fantastic lobster, which made Höfn famous or visit the local swimming pool. Hólmi Zoo is just 5 km from the guesthouse.

Nýpugardar Guesthouse is also an ideal location for spotting the northern lights in the winter months from September to April.

Facilities and Amenities

Nýpugardar Guesthouse offers accommodation on the premises of a sheep farm and has both rooms with shared and private bathroom available. Guests can choose between single, double or triple rooms. A rich breakfast is available. The guesthouse also owns a private cabin with bathroom for guests who prefer more privacy.

The building is situated on top of a small hill and provides guests with amazing views over the nearby glaciers, mountains and coastline.

Nýpugardar has an on-site restaurant and bar, where guests can try a variety of local specialities. WiFi is free of charge and available in public areas.

There are beautiful hiking paths in the vicinity and nature lovers will enjoy the serene and peaceful surroundings.
