Description
Paddle through a lake, canals, and a river and out to sea on this guided kayaking tour from Stokkseyri in South Iceland.
The tour starts in Stokkseyri, a coastal village about an hour's drive from Reykjavik. You meet your guide and get your kayak, paddle, drysuit, and life jacket before setting off.
You paddle along Longudael Lake, through narrow canals, and down the Hraunsa River.
Then you head out to sea, where the setting changes completely. The skerries and lagoons along the shore are home to seals and birds, and the wildlife here is very diverse.
The coast here lies on the Great Thjorsa Lava Field, the largest lava flow from a single eruption in Iceland.
The tour ends at Stokkseyri Harbor.
