Description

Discover the beauty of one of the premier attractions of the charming town of Husavik in this one-hour e-bike tour of Husavik Mountain. This family-friendly adventure takes travelers along the mountain’s hills, with stops at various natural attractions and historical sites.

Although solo riders must be at least seven years of age, those two to seven can join an adult on their bike for free!

This short adventure begins when a friendly local guide meets with you behind the Husavik Whale Watching Center. The guide will briefly discuss the basics of the tour and give you a helmet you will use for the ride. They will also give you a full-suspension e-mountain bike and important reminders to help ensure your safety during the tour.

You’ll then start pedaling toward the scenic hills of Husavik mountain. Along the way, you’ll pass some natural baths featuring geothermal waters. Iceland is known for having rich geothermal sources that heat natural hot springs and even power homes in certain parts of the country.

Apart from providing mind and body relief, these geothermal baths offer breathtaking infinity views of Skjalfandi Bay. This expansive bay is renowned for its stunning vistas, diverse marine life, and unique geological features.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Skjalfandi Bay is its thriving marine ecosystem. The nutrient-rich waters support diverse wildlife, including whales, dolphins, seals, and seabirds. While in the area, appreciate the beautiful coastline and the views of the Kinnarfjoll mountains.

Next, you’ll proceed to the Husavik lighthouse beside the GeoSea Baths. The Husavik lighthouse stands out from the rest of the area’s features because of its bright yellow color. It is also 164 feet tall, easily towering over Skjalfandi bay.

Make sure to take lots of pictures by the lighthouse with the majestic landscape in the background.

You’ll then return to the biking trails and head into the hills of Husavik mountain toward the direction of the beautiful Lake Botnsvatn. The lake features calm waters complemented by surrounding vistas. It’s also home to numerous walking trails, moss-covered rocks, and vibrant greenery.

Interestingly, if you visit the Lake Botnsvatn area between late August and September, you’ll see blueberries and mushrooms everywhere. You’ll also visit a secret beach, offering more photo opportunities.

After spending time at the lake, you’ll pedal along a new mountain bike track. This new route leads to a botanical garden where you can relax in the middle of beautiful blooming flowers.

To end the tour, you’ll ride your e-bike to the harbor and stop at Restaurant Gamli Baukur for a free drink. As you enjoy your refreshing beverage, you can reflect on the attractions you visited and relive shared moments with your family.

Don’t miss this chance to experience Iceland’s natural beauty on this family-friendly 1.15-hour e-bike adventure to Husavik Mountain. Check availability now by choosing a date.
