You'll then board one of the 4x4 vehicles for a scenic drive towards Vatnajokull glacier, navigating through an ancient glacier plain while learning about the area's history from your knowledgeable guide. The bumpy journey takes 20 to 30 minutes, offering picturesque views.

Upon reaching the glacier parking lot, your guide will equip you with crampons, an ice axe, a harness, and a helmet with a headlamp. You'll embark on a 30-minute hike to the glacier's edge, enjoying a relatively easy walk on flat, slightly rocky ground. The guide will adjust to your pace so you can take your time and enjoy the journey.

You'll then arrive at the Crystal Ice Cave, also known as the Sapphire Ice Cave, a massive cavern with a river running underneath, offering a one-of-a-kind experience. The cave changes in shape, size, and location each year because the ice melts and reforms as the seasons change. Therefore, you're guaranteed a unique setting for your unforgettable trip.

Before entering, your guide will provide safety instructions and help you put on your crampons. Explore the cave's crystal blue walls, guided by your experienced photographer-guide, who captures your adventure from the best positions and angles. 

Inside the Crystal Blue Ice Cave, spend 45 minutes to an hour exploring multiple chambers, marveling at the unreal and otherworldly beauty. After enjoying the experience and having professional photos taken, you'll exit the cave and hike back to the glacier's edge before driving back to the parking lot.
