Kayak beside Kirkjufell Mountain, one of the best-known mountains in Iceland, on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The tour suits both beginners and experienced kayakers, as well as travelers who want to add some adventure to their time on the peninsula.
The tour begins at the kayaking base, where you meet your experienced local guide. Your guide gives you all the equipment you need for a safe time on the water, including a dry suit, a life vest, and shoes.
On the water, you first head toward Seal Skerry, an area with many bird species and, as the name suggests, resident seals.
From here, you have a view of Kirkjufell Mountain rising over the landscape. Fans of HBO's Game of Thrones may recognize Kirkjufell as the "mountain like an arrowhead" from the series.
Leaving Seal Skerry behind, you continue along the shoreline at the foot of the mountain before returning to the base.
After the tour, you can warm up with a hot drink on the kayaking base's deck. Then you're free to continue exploring the region at your own pace.
