Explore the sea caves, rock formations, and coastline of the Westman Islands on this speedboat tour from Heimaey Island. The boat tour is a fun way to see this less-traveled part of Iceland.
The tour begins at the harbor on Heimaey Island, the only inhabited island in the archipelago. You receive a flotation suit and life jacket for warmth and safety before you board a RIB speedboat and set out to explore.
As you speed across the waves, you stop to look at sea caves, some of which can only be entered by RIB boat. During the stops, your guide tells stories about the islands, their nature, and their history.
You also see Elephant Rock, a rock formation in a cliff that looks like the face of an elephant.
Along the way, you see seabirds such as fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets, and puffins. Whales and seals are sometimes spotted too.
