Thrilling 4 Hour ATV Tour of Reykjanes Peninsula & the Blue Lagoon with Transfer from Reykjavik

On this 4-hour tour of the Reykjanes area, you will feast your eyes on the singular scenery that tells the story of Iceland's stark landscape, hewn millennia ago from rivers of magma, riotous rifts, and cooled lava rock.

You'll be picked up at your accommodation in the city and deliver you to the Blue Lagoon area, where you will change buses and greet your knowledgeable ATV tour guides before being taken to the ATV base camp approximately 5 minutes away.

To begin, you will ride between lava fields and black sands heading towards Húsafell, a former farm and church estate, and Fiskidalsfjall mountain, near the birch forest of Húsafellsskógur.

The ATV engines will purr like lions as you make your way to the very top of Hagafell mountain. Once you've arrived, you'll revel in the panoramic view of the severe but unmistakable dark lava fields, yellow-green moss and multicoloured brush in the Blue Lagoon area. In clear weather, you will be able to see all the way to the island Eldey, its sheer rock face rising like a monolith out of the ocean.

On the return journey, you will take in the sea air on a drive along the coastline, where you can view some dramatic shipwrecks on nearby sandbars, victims of an unlucky tide. You will make your way to the Blue Lagoon once more, where you may either spend the rest of the afternoon whiling away the hours in the warm water of the geothermal spa or take the next available Reykjavik Excursions bus back to your hotel to explore the city as the nightlife heats up.
