Go sea fishing in Faxafloi Bay on this family-friendly evening tour from Reykjavik's Old Harbor, with your catch grilled on board.
The tour starts at the ticket office at Geirsgata 11 in Reykjavik's Old Harbor, right in the city center, where you meet the crew and set sail into Faxafloi Bay.
On the way, you see Mount Esja, Videy Island, Kollafjordur Fjord, the Akranes Peninsula, and on clear days, the summit of Snaefellsjokull Glacier.
The crew usually finds the fish quickly. You have a good chance of catching cod, haddock, rockfish, and pollock.
You don't need any fishing experience. The crew shows you how to bait and cast, and shares what they know about the sea. Experienced anglers enjoy the trip too, and if you'd rather just relax with a rod in hand, you can enjoy the views.
Before heading back, the crew grills your catch on board and serves it with potatoes and sauce.
The boat then returns to the Old Harbor in downtown Reykjavik.
