Photograph a natural ice cave in Breidamerkurjokull Glacier, an outlet of Vatnajokull Glacier, on this small-group winter photography tour from Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon with a local guide.
The early start gives you the best chance of quieter conditions in the cave. From the meeting point, your guide drives the group about 30 minutes toward Breidamerkurjokull Glacier and tells you about the landscape and the forces that shape the ice.
Near the glacier, you set off on an easy walk, usually 20 to 25 minutes each way, depending on the conditions of the day. On some days, the walk may be shorter. Along the way, you can photograph the glacier area.
At the ice cave, you have about 1.5 to 2 hours for photography. The cave has deep blue ice, intricate patterns, and natural light filtering through the ice walls, and the area around the cave offers more photo opportunities.
