Description

Avoid the crowds and come along for a full day minibus exploration of the majestic Snæfellsnes Peninsula and see the most sci-fi-esque area of the country: volcanic beaches, black churches, and the world-famous Kirkjufell mountain.

After being picked up from your preferred location in Reykjavík, you'll join us for a drive towards Iceland's majestic western coastline. Here you'll experience first-hand the beautiful landscapes this unique part of the country has to offer.

You'll stop at some of the most famous must-see spots and a few extra ones as well. You'll get to visit the picturesque Kirkjufell waterfall, situated right next to the iconic cone-shaped Kirkjufell mountain, and the beach Ytri-Tunga, where you are going to spot the seal colony that lives there.

You'll also visit the stunning black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur. There you'll get a chance to test your strength on the four ancient lifting stones that for centuries were used to measure whether or not Icelandic boys were strong enough to become fishermen.

In addition, you'll pass the serene fishing village of Arnarstapi where you can admire the charming little houses that overlook the cliffs and seascape. Next up is another charming village, Búðir, where you'll see an unusual, jet-black famous and charming church which was built in 1703, Búðakirkja - "The Black Church of Búðir".

You'll also stop to see the dramatic landscapes of the Lóndrangar basalt cliffs before seeing the enchanting Snæfellsjökull glacier. This 7000-year-old stratovolcano with a glacier covered peak can be seen from the city of Reykjavík, at a distance of 120 kilometres. Situated on the most western part of the peninsula, Snæfellsjökull remains one of Iceland's most iconic attractions, famed for its captivating and mystical atmosphere which was the setting of Jules Verne's 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth'.

You'll have plenty of time to walk around, admire and take photos at each and every stop along the way. The free WiFi onboard the minibus and Icelandic music will ensure that this trip is as comfortable as possible.
