Join this tour to spend the afternoon whizzing across the slopes of Langjökull glacier on a revved-up snowmobile. This adventure is for those who wish to get to know the country's famous glaciers, looking for a thrilling activity in between all the sightseeing the land of ice and fire.

You'll begin by making your way to Gullfoss, the highlight of the Golden Circle, to meet up with your local guide. From there, you will head towards the snowmobile base camp by the foot of Iceland's second largest glacier Langjökull. As you roll along, be sure to take in the surrounding countryside, the lava fields and rock cliffs so characteristic of Iceland.

Once you‘ve reached the base camp, you will suit up for the tour with helmet, gloves and hood, and get a lesson on how to best operate the snowmobiles. Then, you‘re off to explore the wintry landscape at hand, at whatever speed you prefer. The pristine mountain views and frosty air are sure to leave you breathless.

Your snowmobile will leave tracks crisscrossing the powdery snow as you zoom across the white expanse, revelling in Iceland‘s natural world. Every part of the glacier is full of mystery, from the vertical shafts puncturing the surface, called moulins, filled with pure blue ice; to the icy peaks of the surrounding mountains.

In medieval times, the caves surrounding the glacier were a favourite hiding spot for the outlaws of Iceland, as they escaped exile or plotted revenge on their enemies. Ask your guide all about the history of these stunning natural surroundings.

Once you finish with your chilling ride, you will head back to base camp and catch a ride back to Gullfoss Waterfall.

Don't miss this chance to experience the thrills of snowmobiling and to leave your mark on the second-largest glacier in Iceland. Check availability by choosing a date.

The snowmobile trip was a beautiful and amazing experience. We were having a family New Year in Iceland and this was a great way to end 2017. We were lucky that the weather was bright and crisp with excellent visibility which clearly enhanced the whole experience. The only negative comment relates to the suitability of the gloves provided for the passenger on the snowmobile. My wife took the gloves provided but they were not sufficient to keep out the severe cold while holding on to the steel frame of the mobile. She was is considerable discomfort, with very cold and painful hands, by the time we completed our outward trip. I gave her hand warmer pads which helped for the return trip. I would suggest that passengers should be given the option of additional over mittens as additional protection from the cold. (This is not a problem for driver as handle bars are heated)

This was the most amazing experience! Thrilling and exhilarating - the perfect way to spend my 40th Birthday! Right from the start in the Monster Tour bus, up into the Highlands and then on to the Snow Mobiles. We were lucky enough to have our own guide due to a large group that had come together. Our guide was really lovely, gave us some great info on the Glaciers and Iceland and clearly loves what he does too. Highly recommend.

The tour was great ! The snowmobile ride is one of the most amazing things you can do in Iceland. I took my son with me together. and my 6 years old boy loves it so much, we never saw or did anything like it before! It is was the most amazing experience for us! Actually driving the snowmobile was much easier than I thought. I recommend, definitely do this one when you are in Iceland.

This tour was so much fun. The bus pick us up from Gullfoss cafe, took about 45 min to drive to their campsite. They provide all equipment, helmet, glows and also overall suit to keep you worm. The snowmobile was super easy to drive, will definitely go again. Highly recommend !!!

It was an excellent tour. In front of the cafe, the tour car was right in front of us, quite easy to find. There were plenty of warm clothing provided in the camp with all sizes. I didnt expect snowmobile could be that exciting, felt totally different from glacier hiking. Would love to go again.

Fantastic experience! Really had great time riding one of those bad boys on the glacier lol The meeting point was right outside of the Gullfoll Cafe, easily to see the logo-ed monster truck with biggest ever tires. Took about 40 mins to reach the campsite where we put on the gears and started the journey. Was a bit nervous of getting lost in the middle of s-now-where although all mobiles were equipped with GPS, but certainly did not take long before the excitement and joy took over. Whole ride was about an hour with a short break. Super nice guides, 5+ star!

It was a neat experience, but short lived. The weather conditions were a bit rough and you couldn't see anything around you. The ride itself was slow (averaged about 15mph) and kind of uneventful.
