Ride a super jeep up onto Vatnajokull Glacier, the largest glacier in Europe, on this summer tour from a base camp in Southeast Iceland.
The tour starts at the base camp by Hotel Smyrlabjorg, between Hofn Town and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where you meet your guide and board the super jeep.
You sit back while your driver takes you about 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) up into the mountains, crossing lava fields and black sand before driving onto the ice of Vatnajokull Glacier.
High on the glacier, you have views over some of the highest peaks in Iceland. Along the way, your guide tells you about the glaciers and ice fields and their impact on the environment.
In some places, the ice of Vatnajokull Glacier is around 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) thick.
Afterward, you ride the super jeep back down to the base camp.
