Enjoy the spectacular nature surrounding Reykjavík with this thrilling, two-hour long ATV tour. This excursion is perfect for those who love adventure and sightseeing and want to escape the crowds.
You will be picked up from your designated pick up point, and driven the short distance to the base, just out of the capital. Here, you will meet your guides, be introduced to your safety equipment, and mount your ATV.
Once you and your group are ready, you will set out, following by your guide into nature. You will circle the incredible lake Hafravatn, as you make your way to two beautiful mountains, Hafrafell and Úlfarsfell.
After ascending these peaks, you will attain spectacular views of Reykjavík and its surrounding towns, such as Mosfellsbær. The surrounding nature is of seascapes, mountain ranges, and enormous stretches of lava from eruptions that occurred centuries ago.
You will have plenty of time here for a photo opportunity, so make sure you remember your camera. Whether you are coming in summer, and looking over a verdant, colourful landscape basked in sunlight, or in winter, and looking over endless fields of snow in an ethereal twilight, your memories and photographs promise to capture the beauty of the region.
In spite of the sights from Hafrafell and Úlfarsfell, they are not major attractions in Iceland, so this is one of the few places in the west of the country where you are very unlikely to find any crowds.
After taking in the views, you will hop back onto your ATV and shoot back to camp. If you were sharing your ATV with another driver, now would be a great time to swap over, so both can experience the thrill of driving and the beauty of the surrounding nature as a passenger.
