Leave the planning to your guide on this mystery super jeep tour from Hvolsvollur in South Iceland. The weather, road conditions, and your guide's local knowledge decide where you go for the day.
One popular route goes deep into Thorsmork Valley, an area of raw, remote nature. You drive beneath Eyjafjallajokull Glacier, cross glacial rivers, and see Gigjokull Glacier, an outlet glacier of Eyjafjallajokull.
Another possible route leads up to the summit crater of Eyjafjallajokull Volcano, which erupted in 2010, with views over Iceland's interior, the surrounding ice caps, and toward the Westman Islands.
You may instead head to Landmannalaugar in the highlands, a remote volcanic landscape of orange, cream, blue, and green rhyolite mountains and natural hot springs. The highland roads to Landmannalaugar are only open in summer.
A fourth option is the South Coast, with its waterfalls, ice caps, glaciers, and black sand beaches.
At the end of the day, you return to Hvolsvollur.
