Combine a day of fishing with the main sights of the Golden Circle on this private tour from Reykjavik.
All the stops on this tour are within a 75-minute drive of Reykjavik.
The first stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Iceland's parliament, the Althingi, was founded here in 930 AD.
You then fish in one or two fishing areas, such as the Holaa River and Lake Laugarvatn, the Bruara River, Lake Thingvallavatn, or private trout and char rivers in South Iceland. Your guide helps you along the way.
In the Bruara River, the Holaa River, and Lake Laugarvatn, you can catch Arctic char, brown trout, and sometimes salmon. In Lake Thingvallavatn, you can catch Arctic char and brown trout.
You also visit the Geysir Geothermal Area, where Strokkur Geyser erupts every 4 to 16 minutes, and stop for lunch there. If time allows, you also stop at Faxi Waterfall.
The last sightseeing stop is Gullfoss Waterfall, whose name means "golden waterfall." Here, the Hvita River drops in two tiers into a deep canyon.
