Description

Ensure a smooth sailing fishing escapade during your trip to Iceland by securing your fishing license in Lake Langisjor. Fishing licenses in the area are available at the Holaskjol Highland Center, about 3.1 miles (five kilometers) from the edge of Vatnajokull National Park.

Your fishing license allows you to fish on Lake Langisjor and the many other lakes in the mountains of Fogrufjoll. You’ll be able to fish in nine lakes for 24 hours from the time you arrive at the lake.

Lake Langisjor is a breathtaking 12.4-mile (20-kilometer) long lake in the remote highlands of Iceland. Located in the western part of Vatnajokull National Park and surrounded by the impressive Vatnajokull glacier, Lake Langisjor provides a stunning vista of wilderness, calming views, and remarkable silence.

The lake is famous for its population of Arctic char, a cold-water fish species prized for its delicious taste. Expect to find healthy populations of these prized fish, as well as trout, which add to the lake’s fishing opportunities.

Fishing in Lake Langisjor costs around 5.000 ISK per license. However, guests who are 15 years or younger will get the license for free. When it comes to the best fishing areas, one of the favorites is the peninsula, where you’ll find the cabin. Alternatively, Lake Langisjor’s south end is another excellent spot to catch fish.

Moreover, breathtaking mountains like the Tungnarfjoll and Fogrufjoll are found on the lake’s northeast and southeast, respectively. If you plan to add more challenges to your Lake Langisjor fishing experience, head to the lake’s north side and hike toward the fishing spot.

However, you must drive for about an hour along a track following the Breidbakur mountain range before reaching Lake Langisjor’s north end. Moreover, you’ll need a 4x4 vehicle with good ground clearance to reach the lake’s north end.

Book your fishing license today for a fantastic fishing experience in Iceland.
