Description

Sail from Stykkisholmur among the islands of Breidafjordur Bay on this boat tour, and taste fresh scallops and sea urchin roe hauled straight up from the seabed.

Breidafjordur Bay in West Iceland is a large, shallow bay ringed by mountains and dotted with countless islands. Along the way, you see striking rock formations and plenty of birdlife, while your guide shares stories and facts about the bay.

During the trip, a dredge is lowered to the seabed and its catch is emptied on deck for you to see. You may get to handle crabs, sea urchins, scallops, sea cucumbers, whelks, and starfish.

Then you taste fresh scallops and sea urchin roe just minutes after they left the ocean floor.

The boat was built in Norway and fitted out for these trips. It has room for 140 guests, with warm seating inside and space out on deck.
