Look for whales in Faxafloi Bay and then take a virtual flight across Iceland at FlyOver Iceland on this 4.5-hour combination tour in Reykjavik.
You meet your English-speaking guide at the Old Harbor, board the boat, and sail into Faxafloi Bay, which lies between the Snaefellsnes and Reykjanes Peninsulas.
The crew searches for minke whales, humpback whales, dolphins, and harbor porpoises. Killer whales are sometimes seen too, though sightings are rare. Along the way, you have views of the mountains and islands around Reykjavik and can watch for seabirds.
There's a bar on board. At the end of the boat tour, you return to the Old Harbor.
Later in the day, you head to FlyOver Iceland at Fiskislod 43 in the Grandi Harbor District. You hang suspended, with your feet dangling, in front of a giant spherical screen, while motion, wind, mist, and scents make you feel as if you're flying.
The flight takes you over Iceland's mountains, glaciers, oceans, and volcanoes, inspired by Icelandic nature and stories. The whole FlyOver experience lasts about 30 to 35 minutes.
