Get up close and personal with the icebergs on Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon with this fantastic Zodiac boat tour. Cruise around the serene lagoon, zigzag between the massive bergs and try and spot some resident seals that can often be found lounging about on the ice. Nature lovers looking to get a unique perspective of ‘The Crown Jewel of Iceland’ should grab this chance now.

Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is one of the most beloved spots in the country. It is located in the realm of the great Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. It is here where icebergs that have broken off outlet glacier Breiðamerkurjökull float on aquamarine waters as they make their way towards the Atlantic Ocean.

For this tour, you will meet your guide at the parking lot of Jökulsárlón, located just by Iceland’s road number 1, the Ring Road. After a short introduction and explanation of your upcoming adventure, you will be provided with a floatation suit and a lifejacket.

Then you will board the Zodiac boat and head on out to the lagoon. The boat is a speedy little vessel that can easily hold a number of people while navigating between the huge icebergs. You will also be able to get closer to the ice than on another vessel, providing you with a fantastic experience and great photo opportunities.

The icebergs on the lagoon are as varied as they are many. You will be able to watch as they drift by, sometimes bumping into each other or flipping over. Their electric blue and pure white colours are sure to mesmerise you, as well as the crackling sound they make as they move about in the water.

While you take in the beauty of the lagoon, your guide will tell you all about glaciers and this stunning area. You should also keep an eye out for some resident seals, as you could spot a few swimming in the water or resting upon the ice.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon with this fantastic Zodiac Boat tour. Check availability by choosing a date.

this trip was fantastic! it was a fast boat trip across the lagoon to get as close to the glacier as we safely could. the driver/guide was very informed and provided a fun and informative trip. I highly recommend this trip followed by a glacier walk.

The tour was awesome for anyone who enjoys boat rides and nature; we had a blast. Our tour guide Erik was very funny and also had a ton of information about the glacier lagoon. Their setup at the lagoon parking lot was easy to spot

Our Zodiac Boat Tour was amazing! We booked the last tour of the day and had Tamara as our captain/guide. She is very knowledgeable and took time to answer all our questions. Since we were the last tour of the day we got to spend extra time seeing many of the icebergs floating in the lagoon. We definitely recommend doing this tour ... it was a highlight of our trip on the South Coast.

What an experience!!! Simply AMAZING! The guide, a young blonde girl (can't remember her name) was great, from the moment we arrived in the lagoon, until we said good by. Both she and the whole crew welcomed us with a smile and explained everything. Once in the lagoon she kept teaching us everything she knew and answering every single question we asked, and always with that smile. In the distance we saw a seal and then the moment when an iceberg turned around and quickly approached us to see both events, the second one, extraordinary. So this team is awesome and we totally recommend it and this tour.

Fun experience and had a great time! It happened to be windy around the time we went out, but luckily our boat was able to get out to the glacier. The driver/guide was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the glacier. It was great to get so close to the glacier and icebergs in the lagoon. I'd recommend the zodiac boat over the duck boats, but you do have to make sure you can hold on to the edge of the boat since it gets a little choppy. The company was great to work with and fitted us quickly for our lifejacket suits and explained how everything was going to work. Our driver was great at making sure both sides of the boat had good views of the ice which was appreciated.

It was definitely cool to get out on the water and see the icebergs much closer. We were able to get much closer to the glacier as well and learn about the formations. It was cold though! I was very glad I had hat and gloves in addition to the warm suit they provide. You have to hold on so putting hands in pockets is not an option.
