Vatnsleysufoss is only 7 m (23 ft) in height, but what it lacks in stature, it makes up in an astonishing width of 80 m (260 ft).
Tungufljót finds its origins in Lake Sandvatn, and ends as the glacial river Hvita. Both the river and the waterfall itself are popular fishing spots for local salmon fishermen.
