On a positive note myself and Katie had a fantastic time, food/wines were excellent and we met some wonderful people from the USA, Norway and UK that really made the night special. The venue was spectacular, the fireworks over Reykjavik as we said goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019 were breathtaking, sipping fizz and seeing the complete skyline ablaze with fireworks was something rather special. On a slightly less positive note the start of the evening seemed a bit uncoordinated, long queues at the bar and a long wait to receive the welcoming drink but after that I believe things became more organized, the earlier delayed meant we were late to the offsite bonfire, a little bit disappointing but overall it did not detract from the occasion too much as we had such a great time mixing with the other guest throughout the evening into the early hours. Once in the swing of things the staff did an excellent job so the earlier issues is not really a reflection on the front line staff. I guess the big question is was it worth it and would we recommend it, personally I/we say yes, it can be considered expensive but we felt that the food/wine/band/venue and sense of occasion was a near perfect way to see into the New Year. Many thanks to the team/staff for a great night and those that we met, shared drink with and danced the night way thank you, it was a memorable night.

Unfortunately the evening was not as expected infact quiet a disappointment!!! Upon arrival at 5:30 we were directed to level 5 and to our seats, we were then left for over an hour waiting for some kind of service, staff were still laying tables so we're not ready for guests to arrive, eventually the bar opened so we proceeded to buy our own drinks (no sign of welcome drinks by 6:30pm) Two tables by us were then given wine whilst another couple were served bread. Around 7pm we were given a fruit juice welcome drink, I asked where was the welcome champagne, after speaking to some managers we were reluctantly given the correct welcome drinks. Eventually bread was served followed by the other courses, by now the time was approaching 10pm, my ticket stated that we would have a lights tour and bonfire tour, when we got to the bonfire it was just embers, we stayed 15 minutes before being driven straight back to the Perlan, not the 2 hour tour as promised. Upon arriving back our desserts were already on the tables, I was not prepared to eat this as it had not been served whilst we were there, who knows what could have been done to it!!!! I am extremely disappointed as the whole evening seemed like one big shambles, this is not the kind of service expected when paying high end prices. I’m sure this could have been a fantastic night, the band we great although they finished early, also the view was out of this world, we made the most of the evening bringing in the new year.... Was it worth £800 for two?? Not in my opinion.

Unbelievable! The adrenaline rush of the buildup of fireworks to Midnight was nothing like I’ve experience in my lifetime. It was the perfect venue. One negative is the table assignments were very messed up and there were some angry people, including us, initially. We booked month ms in advance and to have people already seated at our spot was frustrating. There was no leadership to sort the situation. We ultimately found a table for 6 and insisted we get those seats and they sort whoever was late, as we were on time, even early. So, get there early to get your seats. Highly recommend the experience. Nothing like it in the world! Oh, and the band was awesome. We danced until the stopped playing. We were told the party ended at 2am, but the band stopped at 1:30. They really should have played until 2!

We had a wonderful time. GJ Travel was the tour provider and Eryon was our guide and driver. She was very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. She was very helpful and willing to stop whenever possible to let us take photos along the way to some of our destinations. We certainly appreciated this as did the others in our group. Tour was as described, but the experience was more than what we expected. We went in early September 2018 and were fortunate enough to also have fantastic weather. Guide to Iceland was who we used to book this tour and others we did. Staff here also very helpful and friendly giving us advice on how to plan our trip. Highly recommend them as well and have already shared this site with friends and coworkers. We should mention that the hotels that were used were fantastic as well. All very clean and new. Would give them 4-5 stars for sure. Thank you Guide to Iceland with help planning this trip.
