For those seeking even more adventure, an optional ice cave tour is available between October and April, should the weather permit. This unique experience takes you on a 30-minute drive by a 4x4 vehicle from the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, followed by a 5 to 15 minute hike (one-way) to reach the ice cave. Spend approximately one hour inside the captivating ice cave, marveling at its ethereal beauty. 

Please note that good hiking boots and warm, waterproof clothing are necessary for this optional tour, as the ice caves can be damp. The minimum age requirement for the ice cave tour is ten years old.
