"Thanks to Guide to Iceland, I had an unforgettable adventure with expert, friendly service providers. Everything was perfect and exceeded my expectations!"
Helga was a wonderful and informative guide who knew a lot about the areas visited and pointed out the significance of the area as well as the people who lived in the area. It was fascinating and she explained about the Icelandic foods and culture. Explained how the melt from Vatnajokull was able to provide the water for Hrafnabjargafoss and Aldeyjarfoss and then the glacial waters meet a river fueled by Spring water and they both feed the amazing Godafoss Waterfall! Even with the rain, it was a magical and truly amazing journey! I had also left my beanie in the car and Helga kindly delivered it back to the hotel for me before my flight departed! I can’t thank her enough for her hospitality.
This was a perfectly paced day. The waterfalls, lake and other parts of the tour were beautiful, and unique. The driver did a great job of sharing stories and information, but also was quiet letting us enjoy the scenery on the beautiful drive. The end of the trip was perfect ---the geothermal nature baths. The warm soak, and a few drinks allowed us to recount all of the amazing things that we had seen in this jam packed day.
We had this trip as a group of 4 ladies of a certain age. Our tour guide ( Siggy) was great, he looked after us and paced the speed of the tour just right. He was full of information and answered our questions and told great stories too. Our tour was changed slightly due to weather/road conditions and the Earth Lagoon was closed due to refurbishments, but Siggy gave us 2 options as an alternative and we decided on a visit to the Geosea spa at Husavik instead, which was wonderful.
I would really recommend this trip and Star Travel too.
Overall, the North Iceland 4×4 tour was an unforgettable adventure through wild winter landscapes. Snowy mountains, frozen lava fields, and steaming geothermal areas revealed the raw beauty of the north. Although heavy snow prevented us from reaching Dettifoss, the journey around Lake Mývatn was still dramatic, powerful, and deeply memorable.
