Kaldi BarKaldi Bar is one of the most popular bars in Reykjavik, combining a trendy vibe with a laid-back atmosphere. The bar is usually packed to the brim on weekends with patrons queuing up for the wide selection of local microbrews on tap as well as delicious cocktails.

The interior in Kaldi is rather small but welcoming.

The bar opened in 2011 and has been serving Reykjavik ever since. It is an offshoot of Kaldi Brewery, which holds the distinction of being the first microbrewery in Iceland, founded in 2006. The brewery is situated in the small settlement of Arskogssandur in the North of Iceland. There, you can find possibly the most unique spa in Iceland, the Bjorbodin Beer Baths, as well as Hotel Kaldi.

There are several seating areas in Kaldi Bar.

Entering Kaldi Bar, the interior may feel surprisingly small, especially as the place fills up during busier hours. The lack of space is easily offset by the bustling atmosphere, as the place becomes quite lively during the evenings.

There are tables located outside the entrance, which are perfect for drinks on a sunny day, and the back of the bar has a rather large backyard patio that enlarges the seating area quite a bit when the weather permits.

Kaldi was the first microbrewery in Iceland.

You will naturally find a wide selection of beers from Kaldi Brewery on tap at Kaldi Bar, as well as other local brews. If you're not in the mood for beer, Kaldi Bar also has a fantastic cocktail menu and boasts the largest gin and tonic collection in Iceland.

Overall, Kaldi Bar is a great option if you're looking to get world-class drinks in a trendy locale yet welcoming locale. You'll find Kaldi Bar by Laugavegur, the main street in Reykjavik, but the entrance is actually on the adjacent street of Klapparstígur.
