Because of their location in Vik, a village right in the middle of Iceland’s South Coast, the Vik Cottages are great for accessing the many features of this incredible sightseeing route. The black sand beach of Reynisfjara is just a few minutes walk away, and the Dyrholaey rock arch is almost within sight.

By car, you can access Skogafoss waterfall, Solheimajokull glacier, and Seljalandsfoss waterfall in 30, 35, and 50 minutes traveling east. Traveling west, you’ll come to the Fjadrargljufur canyon, the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, and the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon in 55 minutes, an hour, and 45 minutes, and two and a half hours.

The surrounding village of Vik, though small, is well equipped for travelers, with grocery stores, gas stations, and such.

The Vik Cottages are beautiful buildings nestled against a cliff wall, overlooking the seas, and surrounded by lupins in summer. There are either twin or double options for the beds, and each cabin also has a patio, a private bathroom, a flat-screen television, and coffee and tea facilities. The decor is very chic, modern, and classically Icelandic. Still, due to their size of around 16 square meters, they are also cozy and romantic, perfect for a honeymoon or couple’s getaway.
