"Arsenal to win title? Man City 68.5% chance of top spot. Tottenham in 5th"
The title race between Arsenal and Manchester City looks set to go down to the wire. The supercomputer predicts the winner.
The UK's FourFourTwo reported on Thursday (Korea time) that the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) will be won by Man City after running the algorithm of the bookmaker's supercomputer, BETSiE.
The current EPL standings, which are coming to a close, have Arsenal in first place (86 points) and City in second (85 points). They are separated by just one point. The Gunners have only one game left to play, against Everton on April 20th. City, on the other hand, has two more games against Tottenham on Nov. 15 and West Ham United on Nov. 20.
Arsenal won 1-0 at home against Manchester United on Nov. 13, thanks to a Leandro Trosar goal in the 20th minute. With a five-game unbeaten streak in the league, the Gunners are poised to solidify their position.
City are unbeaten in 21 league games (17 wins and four draws) after a 4-0 win at Fulham on Nov. 11. Since their 0-1 loss at Aston Villa on Dec. 7 last year, they have been racking up points without a break.
The supercomputer favored the chasers. The supercomputer favored the chasers, predicting that City would win the title by a single point over Arsenal. 안전놀이터 추천 It ran 100,000 simulations. City had a 68.5% chance of winning the title, while Arsenal had a 31.5% chance.
If this happens, City will win their fourth consecutive title. It would also be Pep Guardiola's sixth Premier League title with City. Mikel Arteta's Arsenal will finish in second place once again, as they did last season.
To arrive at these results, the supercomputer took into account the results of all matches in all competitions last season, preseason results, and the ongoing season, and then predicted the season based on pre-season predictions and the expected goals gained (xG) during the season, both for and against.
The computer also predicted that Liverpool would finish third, Aston Villa fourth, and Tottenham fifth, which would be unchanged from the current standings. If Son Heung-min's Spurs finish fifth, they will qualify for next season's UEFA Europa League.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are predicted to finish sixth, ahead of Newcastle United, to claim a Europa League spot, while Eric ten Haag's Manchester United will finish eighth. The relegation places were predicted to be Luton Town, along with bottom-placed Sheffield United and 19th-placed Burnley.
