Yesterday was SOO CRAZY. I told you how Jerome Jarre and Nash Grier were mobbed by Icelandic fans in the shopping mall.
Next day Guide to Iceland called me and asked if I wanted to go lava caving with him and more people on a group tour to Leiðarendi lava cave. His videos are funny and I had never gone caving before, so I said yes… because that sounded as an awesome adventure!
My little sister Elva Rún and I met the group and we went driving on 3 cars to the lava tube. Elva is a big fan of Jerome and she was also the one who introduced me to Vines, so she was very excited too. Margret Edda Gnarr, World champion in fitness, Icelandic champion in TaeKwonDo and the daughter of the the mayor of Reykjavík, Jón Gnarr, was also with us. She´s pretty awesome. Jerome´s friend Chris Carmichael was there too and he is such a nice guy. Simmi is the best guide!
When we got there we all finally understood that this would be a real adventure. The lava cave was all covered in ice and we had to climb through rocks to end our mission. Most of us fell a few times and had to help each other to reach the end. But when we reached our destination we were able to relax and enjoy the amazing scenery in the cave, which was made by lava tunnelling in volcanic eruptions.
Jerome proposed that we all turn our headlights off for a minute, that was the scariest part. Being stuck hundreds of meters inside a lava tube with no lights on is, believe me, scary. But it was also a lot of fun.
To get back on him everyone in the group mobbed Jerome on the way back and wanted to get their pictures taken with him. Most of us had seen his videos and loved laughing at them. I think maybe that was the scariest part for him. He may have felt that he was being mobbed again, but this time not in the mall but in an underground cave.
Still he was so cool about it and nice. This was so much fun, thanks Iurie for the pictures and everyone else on this tour, it was great meeting you all!
