Pizza and Art in Hvolsvollur

Gallery Pizza is a long-standing dining spot in central Hvolsvollur with an art-inspired theme. Artwork decorates the restaurant, while pizzas such as the Mona Lisa and Opid continue the artistic theme. Opid means “The Scream” in Icelandic, referring to Edvard Munch’s famous painting.
The restaurant welcomes both small and large groups and can offer a separate menu for group bookings.
What Is on the Menu

At Gallery Pizza, freshly made pizzas take center stage, with 9-, 12-, and 16-inch sizes suited to anything from a quick meal to a feast shared around the table. Try the Grand Supreme, which is loaded with beef, ham, pepperoni, sweet pepper, onion, mushrooms, and pineapple.
The menu also covers breadsticks, salads, sub sandwiches, fish and chips, lamb chops, hamburgers, coffee, and pastries. Vegetarian choices include the Vegetable Pizza and Gallery Veggie Pizza.
Two Locations on the South Coast

The original restaurant is at Hvolsvegur 29 in Hvolsvollur, open daily from 11:30 AM to 9 PM. It has outdoor seating and in-store pickup, and it makes a convenient stop before Seljalandsfoss Waterfall and the rest of the South Coast.
The newer Landvegamot location is at the junction of the Ring Road and Route 26, near the town of Hella. Route 26 leads toward Hekla Volcano and Landmannalaugar, so the restaurant is a practical food stop before heading toward the Highlands.
The Landvegamot location is also open daily from 11:30 AM to 9 PM. Free parking is available for cars and campervans. Visit either location if you're looking for places to eat on the Ring Road.
