Two friends sharing brunch plates, coffee, and juice at Terian Brasserie in Akureyri

Terían Brasserie is a relaxed French-Italian restaurant inside Hótel KEA in central Akureyri, North Iceland. It serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and is best known for its build-your-own brunch. Read on for menus, opening hours, and VIP Club savings.

Terían is on the ground floor of Hótel KEA, on the main street of Akureyri, the largest town in North Iceland. It opened in July 2024 and revives the name of a popular restaurant the hotel once ran in the same space.

It's the sister restaurant of Múlaberg Bistro & Bar upstairs and takes the more casual role of the two. Come for a buffet breakfast, a long brunch with friends, or an easy plate of pasta after a day of sightseeing.

Terían is part of Guide to Iceland's VIP Club, so members get 15% off everything on the food and drink menus.

What to Eat at Terían Brasserie

Brunch spread of eggs, pancakes, fruit, and coffee on patterned plates at Terian Brasserie in AkureyriTerían describes itself as a brasserie with a touch of French and Italian cuisine. The day starts with a breakfast buffet, followed by brunch and an all-day lunch and dinner menu from 11:30 AM.

Terían Brasserie’s menu labels dishes that contain gluten or dairy, and marks vegan and vegetarian options. This makes it easy to order around most dietary needs.

Breakfast Buffet at Terían Brasserie

Terían's breakfast buffet runs every day from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and is open to everyone, not just hotel guests. It's an easy way to fuel up before a drive around the Diamond Circle or a morning on the water.

The hot table has scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, and oatmeal. Around it, you'll find fresh fruit, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, granola, sourdough and rye bread, and pastries like cinnamon swirls.

Coffee comes from Icelandic roaster Te & Kaffi, served alongside tea and juice. The buffet costs 4,190 ISK for adults and 1,990 ISK for children aged 6 to 12. Children aged 5 and under eat free.

Brunch at Terían Brasserie

Terían Brasserie earns its place among the best brunch spots in Akureyri with a build-your-own tasting menu. Brunch is served from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. You pick three, five, or seven dishes from a list of 15 small plates. At the time of writing, three courses cost 3,390 ISK.

Savory plates include butter-fried sourdough, smoked salmon with citrus cream cheese, poached eggs with hollandaise, and crispy stracciatella ravioli. For something sweet, there are American pancakes with berries and maple syrup, or Tería-misú, the house tiramisu.

To make a longer occasion of it, add the bottomless drinks option. It starts with a spritz of your choice, followed by two hours of mimosas, prosecco, or beer.

Lunch and Dinner at Terían Brasserie

The lunch and dinner menu is served from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM, so you can order from it during brunch hours too. It covers pasta, small pizzas, focaccia sandwiches, salads, burgers, and brasserie classics like a croque madame.

Pasta dishes include carbonara rigatoni, chicken tagliatelle, and tiger prawn tagliatelle, and reviewers often single out the pasta. For lighter bites, try the salmon carpaccio, crispy ravioli, or a Caesar salad.

Desserts include tiramisu, affogato, and a carrot and pistachio cake. There is also a separate kids' menu, which makes Terían an easy choice for families.

Drinks and Happy Hour at Terían Brasserie

The drinks menu leans toward bubbles and aperitifs, with prosecco, Champagne, and mimosas by the glass or jug. Spritzes come in Aperitivo, Limoncello, Elderflower, or Sarti versions.

House cocktails include the Terí Mule and Peachy Mango, and gin and tonics can be made with Icelandic Gin Ólafsson. There is also draft beer, and the wine list includes a Petit Chablis, a Barbera d'Asti, and a Rioja.

For an alcohol-free option, try the homemade Terían lemonade or a mocktail such as rhubarb and raspberry. Happy hour runs from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with lower prices on draft beer.
