UNA Local Product

UNA Local Product, or "Sveitabudin Una", is a family-owned and operated gift shop in the town of Hvolsvollur in South Iceland. Hvolsvollur town is located along Route 1, or the “Ring Road,” about 66 miles (106 kilometers) east of Reykjavik. Its location makes it an excellent place to stop for souvenirs when exploring the South Coast.

The owners of UNA Local Product, Magnús and Rebekka, live in Hvolsvollur town with their three children and the Maltipoo dog "Blíða," who you'll likely meet in the shop!

Their giftstore offers a variety of unique souvenirs such as wool apparel, knitted bowties, socks and mittens, handmade jewelry, and locally made skin products. If you’ve been eyeing the ever-popular Icelandic "lopapeysa" wool sweaters, UNA Local Product is the place to go if you want your own!

Since 2015, UNA Local Product has been located in a charming red Nissen hut, a former army barracks built by the American military while stationed in Iceland. They were built in 1956-1957 and later housed a part of the town’s main market.

UNA Local Product holds one of the largest selections of Icelandic wool sweaters, hand-knitted by over 100 local women, each bringing their own personal touch and style to every sweater!
