Location of the Sky Lagoon

The Sky Lagoon is located on the edge of a peninsula in Kopavogur, a town on the outskirts of Reykjavik. The location is very peaceful and as it faces out entirely to sea and is surrounded by dramatic cliffs, it feels very private.

If you have a Reykjavik rental car, it only takes around 15 minutes to drive there from the city center. It can also be accessed by city bus 35 or by booking your admission with a transfer.

Different Sky Lagoon Passes Available

The Sky Lagoon has different entry options. The most affordable is the Pure Lite Pass, which grants admission to the Sky Lagoon’s infinity pool, the public changing facilities, and a towel.

However, if you want to experience the seven-step ritual for which the spa is renowned, you have to book a Pure Pass. If you prefer private changing facilities, you can book the more luxurious Sky Pass.

Finally, couples can book the Sky Lagoon for Two, with either a Sky or Pure Pass, which includes two admissions, the seven-part ritual, towels, one complimentary drink per guest, and a Sky Platter at Smakk Bistro.

The Seven-Step Sky Lagoon Ritual

Pure Pass and Sky Pass guests at the Sky Lagoon are welcome to partake in the spa’s unique seven-part ritual for revitalization, which utilizes all of the facilities available. The steps are as follows:

1. Soak in the waters of the Sky Lagoon’s outdoor pool.

2. Take a dip in the cold-water glacial pool.

3. Spend 10 minutes in the sauna overlooking the sea.

4. Step into a cold fog mist.

5. Rejuvenate your skin with the Sky Lagoon body scrub.

6. Enjoy the steam room.

7. Shower off and return to the lagoon.

Keep in mind that the Sky Lagoon has a 3-drink limit on alcoholic drinks to ensure a pleasant visit for all guests.

After your relaxing time in the water, you can complete your visit with a stop at the Sky Café or Smakk Bar. It's a convenient option for a coffee time treat or a delicious small plate of quality local food.
