Explore the Icelandic skies and pristine oceans by joining a once in a lifetime adventure of morning paragliding and afternoon whale watching. This tour should not be missed by wildlife lovers or those seeking a shot of adrenaline.
In the morning, you will be picked up and be transported to Mount Hafrafell, a beautiful peak just outside of the capital. Here, you will meet your paragliding guides, who will introduce you to your aerial craft, discuss the safety of the tour with you, then gear you up for your adventure.
Taking a tandem paraglide anywhere in the world is an exhilarating experience, but there is no better place to do it than Iceland. Watching the lava landscapes, craters, lakes and rivers unfold beneath you is mesmerising; you will also have unmatched views of Reykjavík, Iceland’s stunning coastline and the surrounding volcanoes.
For approximately twenty minutes, you will glide above these incredible landscapes, before making a smooth landing back to earth.
Once your group has been able to enjoy Iceland from the sky, you’ll be escorted to Reykjavík’s Old Harbour in time for your scheduled whale watch.
Iceland is, without a doubt, one of the whale watching capitals of the world. Around its shores, over twenty species of cetacean are seen; from Reykjavík, the most common are Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, White-Beaked Dolphins and Harbour Porpoises. It is not unheard of, however, to see Orcas, Fin Whales, Blue Whales and more.
If you take this tour from May to September, it is also very likely that you will see Atlantic Puffins. These adorable little creatures can be seen bobbing on the surface, diving for fish, or sprinting clumsily along the surface to take off in flight.
Of course, both of these tours are weather dependent, and if you are not able to embark on either component, you will get to reschedule without charge. If you do not see any cetaceans, you will be permitted on another tour until you do.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore Iceland’s seas and skies. Check availability by choosing a date.
